Raising Boys

If you have a son, then you know the awesome responsibility of ushering him into manhood. Even if your son is young, this is something to be thinking about.

Two centuries ago sons grew up working with their fathers on the farm or in close contact with them around the house and men were able to transfer to their sons most of their values and work ethic. Today that is not the case. Consequently, many boys go into manhood unsure of their relationship with their father and I'll equipped to face a confusing world.

The best thing you can do for your son is to give him your blessing: that means letting him know that he has your approval and that you believe he is a qualified individual in his own right to pursue his own life.

Think about your relationship with your son and how you might deepen that relationship in a spiritual way.
