Thanks, Dad!

Sunday is Father's Day, and your day to bask in the glory of being a father. Thanks for all you do as a father. As you well know, there is a lot of sacrifice involved in the role, and sometimes the sacrifice goes unappreciated. So I, for one, want to thank you for whatever you do to make better families and well adjusted children.

If you still have your father on this earth, it is a good time to show your appreciation to him as well. Perhaps write a letter thanking him for his dedication and influence on you. If your father is not still alive, light a candle in his honor and remember the good times you had.

I'm aware that not everyone had a good relationship with his father. In which case, perhaps you can be charitable and acknowledge that maybe he did the best he could, given his capabilities and resources.

Enjoy the day. Enjoy the role. Say a prayer of thanksgiving for the children.
